A birthday celebration at Eddins Estates apartment complex on Ken Sealy Drive turned volatile when two men entered the home, demanded money, and opened fire. Eugene Home Burglary Victim May Have Known Intruders(OR)

EUGENE, Ore. -- Investigators say the south Eugene man who shot at two burglars -- killing one -- might have known the intruders. "There's reason to believe this is a target incident," said Eugene Police Detective Matt Herbert. Wilkes man will not be charged in shooting(NC)

WILKESBORO -- A Wilkes County man who called 911 to report hearing voices outside his building on Nov. 5 and then shot two intruders, killing one of them, will not be charged, authorities said. Steve Joseph Whitley, 58, of North Wilkesboro, acted in self-defense, said District Attorney Tom Horner. He and Sheriff Chris Shew discussed the case most recently on Thursday. Homeowner shoots at home intruder (SD)

Law enforcement responded to reports of "shots fired" at a residence just north of Box Elder shortly after 4:00 PM Wednesday afternoon. Box Elder Police officials say the incident was the result of an apparent home invasion.
